Public Art Training Camp Session 4: Contracts and Agreements with David Gurwin

Lawyer, jazz pianist, college professor, and long-time arts advocate David Gurwin will explain the different types of contracts involved with public art projects and other contracts that artists may encounter while working with clients.

About David Gurwin

David A. Gurwin is an attorney and Shareholder with the national law firm of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, resident in the Firm’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and New York, New York offices. Mr. Gurwin is an Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College where he teaches a course on Law & the Arts. He also is a Guest Lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center; Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music; and Robert Morris University’s Film Department.

A professional jazz pianist himself, he chairs the Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Entertainment, Media & Sports Law Group. He also chairs the Firm’s Technology Transactions Group, the Copyright Practice Group and is a member of the Emerging Companies Group. Mr. Gurwin represents clients in a broad variety of industries, with a particular focus on Internet, computer and technology clients, as well as those involved in the entertainment, media and sports industries. He also practices extensively in the areas of copyright, trademark and intellectual property law. He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York.
