About the Artist
As a metalsmith, jewelry maker, enamelist, and sculptor, my creative process is a study of transformation and juxtaposition, one rooted in intimacy and in improvisation. Creating objects that intersect with everyday life is at the core of my practice. To create works that become an element of someone’s daily routine—a ring that is worn every day, an installation that activates a mundane space—the intimacy of these moments is a profound joy. I create jewelry and wearable art primarily utilizing vitreous enamel (kiln and torch-fired glass powders) and copper, as well as installations and sculptures incorporating repurposed and recycled materials including hammered aluminum cans, roof flashing, copper pipe, and other found objects.
After receiving a BFA in Metalsmithing from Syracuse University, I began teaching jewelry making in 2007, first teaching adults, and expanding to teach teens and children. I regularly teach through Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media, Artsmiths of Pittsburgh, and Contemporary Craft, and have previously taught at Sweetwater Center for the Arts, and various locations of the Carnegie Libraries of Pittsburgh. Since 2015, I have been a rostered teaching artist with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and I received a Teaching Artist Certificate from University of the Arts in 2018. My teaching practice creates a tangible way for students to see science in action, to express themselves through experimentation and creation, and to connect with centuries of ancient craftsmen. I believe strongly in an educational practice that celebrates multiple intelligences, builds confidence through play, practice, and problem solving.

“Creating objects that intersect with everyday life is at the core of my practice. My art doesn’t feel totally complete until it is engaging with the public.”
