About the Artist

Mita GhosalInspired and driven by the ways movement, emotion, and story intersect and collide in both revealing and unexpected ways, Mita Ghosal’s choreographic work utilizes tools from Contemporary Dance, Yoga, Theatre, and the Poetic and Revolutionary voices of her ancestors. Her work has been presented by many professional venues in New York City including the New York International Fringe Festival and the Current Showcase. In Los Angeles, her work has been presented through REDCAT at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Highways Performance Space. In Pittsburgh, she has presented her original style of choreography through Wood Street Galleries, KST’s NewMoves Contemporary Dance Festival, and Freshworks Artists’ Residency.

Mita holds a BA in Theatre Arts from the Pennsylvania State University, an MFA in Dance/Choreography from UCLA, and is a Certified Movement Analyst through the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies in New York. She has taught dance and yoga through many studios, colleges, and universities including Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, TX, Seton Hill, and Point Park University.
